SAMPLE

Firstly i sonic bonded the striped jersey by following its lines and then i sonic bonded beige lace on the negative space in order to highlight the sonic bonding stitching.

SAMPLE

Black netting has been overlayed onto a citrus coloured fabric which has then been laminated on to a black cotton poplin base. A cotton trim has been used to form checks on to the fabric via the process of lamination.

SAMPLE

Black lace has been burnt and then overlayed on top of beige lace which has then been laminated on to a black cotton poplin base. In between each block of lace there is pleated black tulle.

Lamination has been used for these pleats. A speckled liberty print and a metallic fabrication have been sequentially laminated on to a black cotton poplin base.

This sample incorporates sonic bonded edges using the lace cutter that was then laminated to a fabric base. Beige lace and aqua polyester have been used for this sample.

CHOSEN TECHNIQUES

I have chosen to do sonic bonding and lamination for my textiles collection.

FABRICATION

In true Westwood style i want to utlise traditional checks and stripes within my collection, as well as more flamboyant fabrications such as lace and sheers and interesting trims.

ASSESSMENT 3 CONCEPT

My textile collection will derive from my menswear assessment. My allocated designer is Vivienne Westwood with my primary focus being on the modern day dandy. The modern day dandy can be described as a metrosexual city slicker who takes pride in his appearance and is a trendsetter as opposed to a fashion follower. He likes to take risks within his attire and strives for perfection.
